Smart Board & Property Manager Legal Guide ZOOM CEU: The Addition of Charging Stations to Florida Condominium or HOA Properties
Florida condominium associations are mandated by statute to allow unit owners to install personal charging equipment for their electric vehicles, subject to reasonable conditions. Condominium associations are also authorized by statute to install charging stations for community use without the requirement for a material alteration vote. Florida HOAs are neither mandated by statute to allow owners to install charging equipment, nor restricted by statute from installing community charging stations. This course will explore the statutory requirements for condominiums for owner-installed equipment and community charging stations, and address the challenges associated with the ownership, use, and maintenance of both owner-installed equipment and community charging stations at condos and HOAs.
