• • Guest Speaker: Summer Dawn Wallace, Urbanite Theatre
    

    Summer Dawn Wallace is a multifaceted theater artist based in Sarasota, FL. She is a founder and the Producing Artistic Director at Urbanite Theatre, a company known for producing bold and thought-provoking contemporary works. With extensive experience in acting, producing, and directing, Summer is dedicated to creating innovative theatrical experiences that inspire conversation and community engagement. Regional theater credits include: Asolo Repertory Theatre, Urbanite Theatre, Mad Cow Theatre, Dog Days Theatre, Cumberland County Playhouse, 1st Stage, Vashon Repertory Theatre, Stage Door, Two Chick Productions Theatre Lab and the list goes on.

    Summer also works as an intimacy choreographer and coordinator which involves leading Consent Workshops across the country and implementing best practices and choreography for scenes involving intimacy in theatre. Summer holds an MFA in Theatre from FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training and a BFA in Acting from Western Kentucky University. Additional training includes National Michael Chekhov Association, Michael Chekhov Association, Association of Mental Health Coordinators, Intimacy Directors & Choreographers, and Theatrical Intimacy Education. Summer is Board Secretary of Florida Professional Theatre Association, a member of Actor’s Equity Association, and SAG-AFTRA. Upcoming Projects include Directing, SPACEMAN at Urbanite Theatre, Intimacy Choreography for BEAUTIFUL, and ANNA IN THE TROPIC at Asolo Repertory Theatre, and organizing the state of Florida’s upcoming audition conference in May 2025. Summer also is an adjunct theatre professor with New College of Florida and a frequent guest teaching artist with the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training. During Covid, she took up marathon running and completed her 4th World Major race this past October and will be attempting her first triathlon in January.
