• • Guest Speaker: Robert M. Fournier - City Attorney for the City of Sarasota

Robert M. Fournier has been a member of the Florida Bar since 1978 and has practiced law in Sarasota since 1980. He was appointed City Attorney for the City of Sarasota by the City Commission in 2004, following his service as Deputy City Attorney. In his role, Mr. Fournier provides legal counsel to the City Commission and City staff, drafts municipal ordinances, resolutions, and agreements, and oversees the City's legal representation in both litigation and defense.

Throughout his career, Mr. Fournier has served as legal counsel to the Sarasota Planning Board and Charter Review Committee and brings extensive experience in municipal law. He is board certified in City, County, and Local Government Law by the Florida Bar. A graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, he is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida and the U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
